Our Communities Connected for Kids Program provides services for children and families in the child welfare system, to ensure a community without abuse, neglect and abandonment. Based out of Port Saint Lucie, FL, this position serves as a key leadership figure responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships between the organization and the community, stakeholders, partners, media, and public officials. This role is central to enhancing the organization’s visibility, promoting advocacy initiatives, and supporting strategic partnerships that advance the mission of protecting children and strengthening families across Florida’s Southeast region. EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field from an accredited college or university
Preferred: Master's Degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field from an accredited college or university
EXPERIENCE:
Required: A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in community relations, public affairs, or a similar leadership role in a nonprofit or child-serving organization. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Demonstrated success in public speaking, media relations, and strategic communications. Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills.
Preferred: Knowledge of the child welfare system and community-based care model in Florida is highly preferred. Outreach experience in human services and a strong network within Southeast Florida's nonprofit, civic, and/or governmental sectors is a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) is a strong asset.
* Must be able to travel throughout the Southeast Florida region.
* Some evening and weekend work may be required for community events or meetings.
